Music Builds… Our Home.

“In helping my daughters with their music theory homework, I have learned to read music. I sing in my church choir, and this has been a beautiful benefit for me and for my daughters.”

Many students at Rosie’s House have siblings in the program, and playing duets, trios and music together creates joyful and long-lasting memories for our students. Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles find pride in their student’s musical accomplishments. Traditions and memories are built around trips to the library to check out classical music, performances around the piano during special holidays, and even the routine of nightly practice and homework.

Music, and having a safe, structured afterschool activity, gives our students an alternative to gangs, drugs and violence. Music builds a home life that is hopeful, structured and most importantly filled with joy.
